Pompeii Restaurant is the web site dedicated to the culture and the gastronomy of the tradition of Pompeii cured and directed by Marco and Pina Carli, owners of the famous Restaurant "Il Principe" at the center of Pompeii in Italy.

Marco Carli began, at a very young age, to make his first steps between the "Capannina di Franceschi" and the "Bussola di Bernardini" passing to the international jet-set by means of the Agnelli family where he had his first working experience in the exclusive environment of their summer residence in Versilia and from there to the "Principe di Piemonte" at Sestriere. In the following years he also worked in Europe at the prestigious "Palace" of Saint Moritz and at the magical "Savoy" of London.

At the age of twenty he was already a professional maitre. A year later he was elected first maitre of Hotel d'Italia and opened the prestigious Hotel Ritz in Forte dei Marmi. And it was there that Marco met Pina, a young girl from Pompeii, already a successful manager in the tourist field and owner of two hotels. She is deeply in love with the generous earth of southern Italy and culinary art, but she particularly loves the healthy Mediterranean way of cooking. ~ Marco moved to Pompeii where, with Pina, they began their search for genesis of the Mediterranean cuisine, finding it thanks to old testimonies and directly from recovered archeological evidence from the ruins. Joining passion and competence in the mid 80's The Principe Restaurant and little Gian Marco were born: the fruits of their love.
